Because of these laws, you won’t see before and after photos, treatment prices, or patient testimonials on my website or social media. This isn’t about being secretive; it’s about staying compliant and protecting you as a patient. Every individual’s results are unique, and it’s important that decisions around care are made during a personal consultation, not from marketing materials.

If you are dissatisfied with your treatment, the outcome, or the way your care was managed, you are also entitled to make a formal complaint to an external body. Depending on your concern, you may contact AHPRA (Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency) for concerns about professional conduct or safety standards, the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia for matters related to nursing practice, or the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) for concerns about consumer rights, advertising, or service claims.

These independent organisations oversee healthcare standards in Australia to ensure care remains ethical, safe, and transparent.

The Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) is the main federal law that sets the standard for how personal information must be collected, used, and stored in Australia. The Privacy Amendment (Enhancing Privacy Protection) Act 2012 strengthened this law by giving individuals clearer rights around accessing and correcting their information.

The Australian Privacy Principles (APPs), which are part of the Privacy Act, outline how healthcare professionals like me must handle your data. These principles ensure that information is collected fairly, stored securely, used only for its intended purpose, and not shared without consent unless required by law.

I also comply with the Health Records and Information Privacy Act 2002 (NSW), which governs the handling of health information specifically. This law ensures that your medical records and treatment details remain private and protected.

I collect only the information necessary for your care, such as your contact details, medical history, and treatment notes, and store it securely in my clinical records system. Access is restricted to authorised staff directly involved in your care.

Your information may be shared with other healthcare professionals involved in your treatment, such as your GP or specialist, but only with your consent or when legally required. I do not sell or disclose personal information for marketing purposes.
